1. Who we are

This website (the "Site") and the MediSim OSCE Simulator desktop application (the "App") are operated by Kai Ji ("we", "us", "our"), the data controller for the purposes of this policy. For any question about this policy or your data, contact kaigets123@gmail.com.

2. Scope

This policy covers medisim.app (this marketing website) and the MediSim OSCE Simulator desktop application.

3. The App runs entirely offline

All AI inference in the App — patient dialogue, voice generation, and end-of-session evaluation — runs locally on your own device. No patient data, session transcripts, audio recordings, or clinical notes are ever transmitted to us or to any third party. We have no server-side access to your use of the App and no ability to see, collect, or process this data, because it never leaves your computer.

4. Data collected via this website

Hosting logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (e.g. IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability, retained only briefly.
Fonts. This Site loads the Inter typeface directly from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when a page loads. See Google's Privacy Policy.
No analytics or advertising cookies. We do not currently run any analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies on this Site.

5. Purchases

You can buy the App through Gumroad or Steam — pick whichever checkout provider you prefer. Whichever you choose, your purchase is processed entirely by that independent third-party payment processor, not by us. The processor collects your name, email address, and payment details directly — we do not receive or store your card information. Steam purchases are also tied to your Steam account. The processor shares your email with us solely to deliver license/update notifications and support. See each provider's own privacy policy:

6. Legal basis for processing (GDPR Art. 6)

Contract performance — processing your purchase and delivering the App and its updates.
Legitimate interest — keeping the Site secure and operating correctly.

We do not rely on consent-based tracking, since we set no analytics or advertising cookies.

7. Your rights

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar protections, you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its processing, to request data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights over data we hold directly (e.g. support correspondence), contact kaigets123@gmail.com. For purchase and payment data, contact the provider you paid through (Gumroad or Steam) directly — they are the data controller for checkout information.

8. Data retention

We retain support or contact emails only as long as needed to respond to and resolve your inquiry. We do not maintain a customer database beyond what our checkout providers give us for license and update delivery.

9. International transfers

Because the App runs offline, no session or clinical data ever crosses borders. Website hosting and our checkout providers' payment processing may involve servers outside your country; each is bound by its own applicable safeguards.

10. Children's privacy

The App and Site are intended for medical students and healthcare trainees and are not directed at children under 16.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
